EXTRA CREDIT 3/31

Here is your chance to earn some extra credit for the FOURTH NINE WEEKS while you're on Spring Break!  Each school day during this week, a journal prompt will pop up on the blog.  If you respond to the prompt with at least FOUR sentences, you will earn TWO extra credit points.  That means you can earn 10 extra credit points over this week!

Here's your first one:  Would you say that you are a more of a neat person or a messy person?  Why?

You have two options for how you can submit your answers.
1.  You can simply add a comment to the post that you want to respond to, but remember that those comments will be public, so don't put down anything that you would feel uncomfortable with other people reading!
2.  The other option is to write each answer down on a sheet of paper and hand them in to me when we get back to school.
In either case, all responses are due on MONDAY, April 4th, by the end of your block.

Let me know if you have any questions!  Have a fantastic, safe, and happy break!

Extra Credit Opportunity!

And here you have ANOTHER extra credit opportunity!  For up to 15 extra credit points, write a review of the Lit Circle book that you read for Round 2.  Your review can take whatever format you like:  written, a video review, a script, a poster, etc.  The number of extra credit points that you earn will be determined by the quality of your review.  Remember: this is a review.  That means you can state your opinion on whether you enjoyed the book or not.  That being said, don't be jerky about it.

In order to receive ANY extra credit, your review must be turned in by MONDAY, March 21st.  If your review is just that fantastic, I'll show it to the next class when they do that Lit Circle.

Extra Credit Opportunity

Here's another extra credit opportunity!

Diagram the FIVE sentences below for extra credit.  You have a choice in which way you choose to use your extra credit.  I can either give you FIFTEEN extra credit points (3 for each sentence) OR you can choose to replace your lowest daily work/journal grade (including a zero).  Make sure you look at your grades in Synergy before your make your decision!

This extra credit opportunity is due at the beginning of your class on MONDAY, March 14th.  Obviously, since you're diagramming sentences, you'll need to bring in your answers on paper.  However, you must ALSO put on your paper how you want your extra credit to be used (the 15 points or replacing the lowest daily grade).  Make sure to include that information, or I'll make the call for you!

Please just let me know if you have questions!  Consult the notes on Blackboard if you're having trouble!

Good luck!

1.  Bradley laughed at the dog.
2.  Put the plate on the table.
3.  Stanley, my favorite character, made bad decisions in the novel.
4.  I don't like mushrooms, but I love pizza.
5.  The thin, hungry dog saved the poor, helpless bird.
